The first comprehensive monograph published by the Zahorian & Van Espen Gallery presents a selection of various art projects by Štefan Papč. It does not focus on the overall presentation of individual series, but a targeted selection illustrates the artists' interest in the topic of mountaineering, mountains and their perception, which are themes that they systematically develop across their work. The publication is accompanied by texts by the curator, theorist and gallerist Silvia Van Espen and the leading Slovak theorist Daniel Grúň. The texts analyze Papč's work in a broader context, focusing on analogies with the work of important local artists of the second half of the 20th century as well as contemporary foreign artists. They also consider various aspects of the motif of verticality and mountaineering.
