Mgr. Erik Vilím, PhD.


Erik Vilím is an aesthetician. From 2017 to 2019 he was completing his doctoral study at the Institute of Literary and Artistic Communication at the University of Constantine the Philosopher in Nitra. His final thesis was entitled The Meditative Quality of Expression in Visual Art. While still a student, he prepared many solo and group exhibitions as a curator and concurrently worked as an gallery assistant in the Zahorian & Van Espen Gallery. In 2018 (together with Mária Janušová) he prepared the #OK XII Small Object and Drawing Triennial exhibition in Banská Štiavnica. Currently he leads a discussion format in Kunsthalle Bratislava entitled talking art heads, which is aimed at presentation of work by the youngest generation of artists. In 2019 he completed a residency in the capital city of the Georgian Republic, Tbilisi. Currently he is working as documentation manager, also in Kunsthalle Bratislava.
