Mgr. Daniela Čarná, PhD.
Gallery educator and curator of contemporary art. She studied history of arts at the Faculty of Philosophy of the Comenius University in Bratislava and earned her PHD degree at the Faculty of Arts and Philosophy of the Trnava University in Trnava. From 2002 to 2014, she worked at the City Gallery of Bratislava where she found and led the Gallery Education Office. Having curated tens of thematic and monographic exhibitions, her professional activities primarily include mediation of visual art to different target groups. She is the author of numerous educational programs including the national program for schools entitled Umenie zblízka (Art from Close-Up) and trainings for pedagogues. A member of the Slovak section of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA), she contributes to the magazines Prostor Zlín, Ateliér and Jazdec, Profil, Flash Art and authored the monograph of Igor Kalný and Michal Kern, as well as the book for children entitled Po stopách umenia (In the Footsteps of Art).
