The social acoustic sculpture by Katarzyna Krakowiak makes use of the catharsis power of voice and laughter to challenge (mock) the patriarchy and discrimination. It is an expression of support for women since they are increasingly being denied their basic rights. Mass laughter will erupt through the walls and façade of Kunsthalle Bratislava on SNP Square in Bratislava.
Matej Gavula’s Promenade in Kunsthalle EXT is a project focused on the problem of cultivating and conserving public space, with its relatedness to the local population’s cultural memory. The artist’s work traces the consequences of irresponsible interventions by developers, who had no regard to the identity and social context of the architecture and the place. This is a hybrid cultural project with an implied critical appeal.
